Friuli Colli Orientali Doc

  • Sight: Bright ruby red with violet reflections.

  • Nose: A characteristic bouquet of the variety, with balsamic and aromatic touches of eucalyptus, bay leaf, wild strawberry, and raspberry. This is followed by tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, pink pepper, and goudron.

  • Taste: Dense, taut, crisp, enveloping, and persistent on the palate, with salty tannins and echoes of ripe red fruits. The finish is long, balsamic, deep, and saline.

Production Area: Hills of Friuli Colli Orientali – Prepotto (Ud).

Training System: Simple Guyot

Soil Type: Flysch of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin.

Harvest: Third decade of September, manually harvested in crates.

Vinification: Destemming and soft crushing. Fermentation at a controlled temperature (24-26°C) with maceration on the skins for about 20 days in small open containers, with repeated manual punch-downs.

Malolactic Fermentation: Carried out in amphora and barriques.

Aging: 24 months in amphora and barriques, followed by one year of bottle aging before release.
